Like many companies, my job recently went exclusively work-at-home for this pandemic. During a recent all-staff meeting, my company thanked us for all our hard work, but asked us to remember, this was “business as unusual”. We wouldn’t be able to maintain our usual workload, with different work spaces, children at home, caring for sick and general anxiety about the world. And they realized that.
When I last posted, I mentioned I didn’t anticipate an impact. I quickly realized that wasn’t the case. These last two weeks have been “business as unusual”. Not being able to go places has definitely impacted me and my desire to quilt.
But with time comes adjustment. Social distancing, shelter-in-place or whatever else we call it will continue for at least a few more weeks. And so, I’ll be gentle with myself, appreciate what I have, grateful for hobbies that distract me.
Speaking of being gentle, I’m going to call my previous To-Do Tuesday as being complete. Here are some of the things I got done:
March Challenge quilt is now a top, with borders
I worked on my RSC projects, pulling my teals & aquas
And got borders on an UFO
This week, I plan on:
- Continue to work on bordering some UFOs. I have 10 projects that just need borders, or for me to make the decision that it doesn’t need a border
- Order fabric for my fathers quilt
- Maybe make a backing
- Make all the blocks for my newest quilt
It’s a light list this week. But hopefully I’ll have a lot to show next week.
Wishing you all good health.
